The church that is now “Beverly Hills Peace Community Church” was until 2021 Beverly Hills Presbyterian. The church began as Tenth United Presbyterian Church of Philadelphia on October 29th, 1863, when it was located in West Philadelphia. The church moved to Upper Darby in 1928, and celebrated it’s 150th anniversary in October 2013.

We have a rich history of progressive leadership. Dr. Roy Grace started serving as minister in 1932 during the great depression with a 158 member church. The church eventually grew to over 700 members. Dr. Grace taught in the Episcopal Seminary, studied in Palestine, wrote several books, supported and traveled to missions in Egypt, Sudan and Ethiopia. We continue his tradition of supporting missions around the world.

In many ways since those mission days the world has come here. Upper Darby is a diverse multicultural community just outside of Philadelphia with over 80 dialects and languages spoken by students at Upper Darby High School.

Today we share our space with two other small churches, one Spanish “Verbo Vida Eterno” and the other Fillipino “Renew Bible Church” and a large daycare named “Little Bible Buddies”.
